Has AI content made you cut back on social media?Social media platforms have been flooded with AI-generated content over the last couple of years, from AI influencers to deepfaked videos and comments that read a little too polished to be human. And it’s only getting harder to tell what’s real, with AI content becoming more convincing by the day. Some people say that’s made them trust their feeds a lot less, pointing to the growing struggle to tell what’s real from what’s AI-generated, the rise of bot accounts pushing fake engagement, and the worry that entire online communities could be built on content nobody actually made. By the time you’ve stopped to figure out whether something’s real or AI, you’ve already spent your time on content that wasn’t worth it in the first place, and for some users, that’s enough to make them pull back, check sources more, or avoid certain platforms altogether. On the flip side, plenty of people say it hasn’t changed how they use social media at all. Staged videos and photoshopped photos have been part of the game long before AI came along, and while plenty of people already find that annoying, now there’s an extra layer of AI-generated content to filter through on top of it, making the whole experience even more of a slog. Even so, staying connected with friends, keeping up with news, and being entertained still outweighs the concern for most, even if they’re a bit more sceptical about what they believe.Where do you stand on it? Does not being able to tell AI from real content make you want to use social media less, or does it not bother you all that much? Drop a 👍 or ❤️ below and let us know your thoughts in the comments!
